Diciassette never stops! Here you can find all the different initiatives we have been working so far.

Responsible Consumption Conference

On the 12th of April, Diciassette hosted its first conference on responsible consumption! The focus was the potential and limits of Fairtrade labeling.

Stefano Toma - Project and Advocacy Manager at Fairtrade Italia introduced the Fairtrade Hired Labour Standard and its impact on small scale farmers.

ISCOS Lombardia reported on one of its projects in the areas of decent work, local development and food security.

Bernard O'Connor - Professor of Agriculture and Sustainable Development -discussed the EU internal market and labeling procedure.

Responsible Consumption.

The Climate Limbo

Diciassette in co-organization with APS Cambalache and ChiAmaMilano organized an evening event!

Following the screening, the topic of (missed) recognition of climate refugee status in the international asylum system was addressed.

With us there was Professor Cesare Pitea, Professor of International Environmental Law at the University of Milan.

The documentary tells the stories of migrants, fleeing from devastating lands that are impossible to live and for which it is still difficult to obtain recognition of international protection and those of Italian farmers and breeders whose work increasingly affects climate changes.

Agri-coolture

On Sunday 23 June 2019, Diciassette cycled over 20km along the Naviglio Grande to the Ticino river near Robecco sul Naviglio. Once there, we explored Salvaraja – a Carnaroli rice farm that prides itself on sustainable practices. It was an incredible day and an amazing opportunity to learn about agroforestry and the economic benefits of sustainable farming.

Sustainable Aperitivo

After the success of our conference on responsible consumption, it was time to have fun!

On May 8, Diciassette and other students met at Ostello Bello on Via Medici 4 for a sustainable snack!

After we all have a drink and some tasty snacks, we verify our knowledge in a sustainability questionnaire.

#PLANT4AMAZONIA

September 5 was the day of Amazonas

Many people joined our planting challenge and in a month, 46 people joined us and countless new plants were planted🌱

The challenge of planting is over. Together we have started a forest.

We want to thank everyone and encourage them to continue making our planet greener 🌏

Cascalaterra

A confrontation meeting to understand how to manage conflicts concerning the environment and the territory.

``Cascalaterra`` three days of appointments to explore sensitive and extremely topical issues such as biodiversity, the state of health of the oceans, air pollution, with a focus on the city territory.

The initiative aims to be an opportunity to meet and compare the realities operating in the sectors related to the environment and with citizenship, with the intention of making people aware of the problems linked to the environmental crisis and the need for a transition to sustainability.

Corporate Impunity: Multinationals vs. Environmental and Social Justice

On the occasion of the 5th UN negotiating session for the creation of a binding treaty on the subject of human rights and business, the University di Milano La Statale hosted UDAPT, an association that in Ecuador is fighting for environmental protection and respect for human rights.

With Pablo Fajardo and Willian Lucitante, Principal Lawyer and Executive Coordinator of UDAPT - Union of the affected population for Texaco's oil operations in Ecuador

Università degli Studi di Milano, Via Festa del Perdono
October 22, 2019

4th Global Climate Strike to ask for a system change and to speak about the SDGs.

We presented a small journey, even a physical one, to better understand the connection between the climate emergency and the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, with the help of stories of efforts and hopes. We believe that stories can be an incredible means of communication, not simply to trap memories on a sheet of paper, but to inspire many others.
